About Kari

Kari M. Kelly has a decade of experience counseling lenders, as well as developers, in the financing of complex real estate transactions, including transactions involving commercial real estate designated by the National Park Service as certified historic structures for which historic tax credits are available. Having worked through the financial crisis of 2008, Kari also has experience in representing lenders in workouts of troubled commercial loans, which experience Kari regularly draws on in her lending practice. Additionally, Kari advises clients in both the purchase and sale of commercial real estate investments, including the leasing of buildings being purchased by her clients.

Recent representative transactions include:

  • Representation of a national bank in the construction financing of a historic structure located in Canton, Maryland, for which historic tax credits were also utilized.
  • Representation of a regional developer in the development and financing of a historic structure located in Mt. Vernon, for which historic tax credit were also utilized.
