The Morris B. Myerowitz Moot Court Competition is a prestigious annual contest, consisting of a written brief and four rounds of appellate argument on a written competition problem. The final round of the competition is held in the Law School's Ceremonial Courtroom. The finals are attended by past winners of the competition, other Law School alumni, and members of the Maryland bench and bar, as well as students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
Each year, distinguished members of the region's judiciary preside over the final arguments, naming a best oralist and runner-up best oralist. The name of the student who wrote the competition's best brief is also revealed at the finals. The top three participants become the University of Maryland School of Law National Moot Court Team and represent the law school at the National Moot Court Competition held in New York.

The Maryland State Bar Association, Inc., Section of Young Lawyers, has presented Melody Tagliaferri Cronin, an associate in the firm's litigation department, with the 2008-2009 Distinguished Service Award. The award was given to Ms. Tagliaferri Cronin for her contribution to the MSBA's Section of Young Lawyers for her role as Chair of the Wills for Heroes Program in Maryland. Wills for Heroes is a national organization which provides basic estate planning documents to emergency personnel. It was founded because of the many 9/11 first responders who died without having wills in place. In addition to her significant role in the founding of the Wills for Heroes affiliate in Maryland, Ms. Tagliaferri Cronin recruited other attorneys to draft templates of estate planning documents and then organized the group's first event in Montgomery County where several volunteer lawyers drafted estate planning documents for thirty first responders. For the second year in a row, seven lawyers from Rosenberg Martin Greenberg were selected to appear in a list of Maryland "Super Lawyers" published in the January issues (2007 and 2008) of Baltimore Magazine and Maryland Super Lawyers Magazine. Towson University has announced that Gerard Gaeng has been selected as the recipient of the 2007 Dean's Recognition Award for the University's College of Liberal Arts.
