DAVID WYAND

Partner

David Wyand focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation. He has represented individuals and businesses in cases involving a wide variety of issues, including commercial disputes, real estate disputes, executive employment contracts, non-competition agreements, director liability, shareholder disputes, and insurance coverage.  Mr. Wyand regularly handles litigation in Maryland state and federal courts.

In 2005, Mr. Wyand, along with co-counsel, represented an employee suing for substantial unpaid commissions under the Maryland Wage Payment and Collection Law, in which the employee received a jury verdict in his favor of over a million dollars. The Court later awarded the employee just under a half of a million dollars in attorneys’ fees and costs, along with prejudgment interest of approximately a quarter of a million dollars.  See Imgarten v. Bellboy Corp., 383 F.Supp.2d 825, 838 (D.Md. 2005).

Mr. Wyand is also a member of the Board of Directors of Helping Up Mission, Inc.  Helping Up Mission is one of Baltimore's oldest and largest non-profit institutions, providing hope and help to the poor, the homeless and those recovering from addiction.
