  • How To Get "Stuff" In Evidence and The Appellate Lawyer's Perspective on What Works and What Doesn't.  On March 5, 2010, Andrew Baida joined the Honorable William Young, Federal District Court of Massachusetts as a guest speaker at a program sponsored by the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, D.C.   In addition to discussing preservation and other issues the trial litigator should think about to make his or her appeal run more smoothly, Andy offered tips on effective written and oral advocacy.

  • Double Impact: An Assessment Of Recent Supreme Court Impact Decisions And The High Court's Direction During The Obama Presidency.  On June 11, 2009, Andrew Baida co-chaired this program in which three of the most experienced Supreme Court advocates in the country reviewed what the United States Supreme Court has done in its most recent term and the direction it is likely to take in the foreseeable future.  This event was held at the MSBA Annual Meeting.  Click here to read an article about the program.

  • On January 29, 2009, Andrew Baida joined a panel of appellate and trial judges and practitioners as a speaker in a program sponsored by the Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers, entitled "Maryland Administrative Procedure Act: 50 Years Strong."

  • Sedica Sawez served as an Honorary Co-Chair of the 16th Annual Lawyers' Campaign for CollegeBound Foundation. The College Bound Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage and enable Baltimore City students to break the cycle of poverty by achieving their dream of a college education.
  • On October 4th RMG sponsored a community service event benefiting Civic Works, an organization with a mission to build a future for Baltimore's youth through community service and skills development.  In addition to sponsoring the event, the firm had a team of 20 volunteers consisting of employees and employee family members that helped beautify 1600 and 1700 blocks of 33rd Street in Clifton Park by installing new address plaques, painting porches, trimming bushes, trees and improving the overall curb-appeal of the area.   • Ethics for DummiesChristine Pham was a speaker at a program on professional ethics held in June 2008 at the Maryland State Bar Convention in Ocean City, Maryland.  The program covered a broad range of issues, including advertising, conflicts of interest, fees, and safeguarding property. 
  • Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child: A Discussion of the Court of Appeals' Decision in In re Roberto d.B.  Maryland's highest court held last year that the name of a genetically-unrelated, gestational host of a fetus was not required to be listed as the mother on the child's birth certificate.  The case was the subject of a program, co-chaired by Andrew H. Baida, held on June 12, 2008 at the Maryland State Bar Convention in Ocean City, Maryland.  The program featured two judges of the Maryland Court of Appeals, Maryland's highest court, and several other speakers who discussed the surrogacy issues this case involves, its impact on the best interest of the child standard, the questions of judicial restraint that it raises, and other aspects of the case.
  • The Answer is “A Jeopardy Game on a Variety of Tax topics”. On June 12, 2008, Caroline D. Ciraolo and other panelists presented a program addressing a variety of tax issues in the areas of real estate, criminal law, estate and gifts, divorce, bankruptcy, business taxes and tax procedure.   • On December 13, 2007, Douglas J. Furlong, together with The Honorable Albert J. Matriccianni and U. of Md. Law School Professor Roger C. Wolf, Esq., taught the "Advanced Mediation Skills-Business Disputes" seminar sponsored by MICPEL.  Mr. Furlong presented "The Effective Mediation Of Complex Business Disputes."  Mr. Furlong drew on over 10 years experience mediating complex, multi-party cases referred by the Baltimore County and Baltimore City Circuit Courts, the Baltimore County Orphans Court, the Business and Technology Case Management Program, as well as cases in which he has been retained directly by counsel for the litigants.  Mr. Furlong's success as a mediator has earned him a reputation at the Bar as a "go-to" mediator for difficult, hard to settle cases.  Mr. Furlong has also served as an arbitrator, including for the New York Stock Exchange.

  • 19th Annual Conference & Workshops on Law Firm Management & Economics, sponsored by Joel Rose & Associates, Inc., took place on March 16-17, 2006 in Atlanta Georgia. The participants were managing partners of firms ranging in size from 15 to more than 300 lawyers from all over the country and several Canadian provinces.  Benjamin Rosenberg was one of 5 faculty members, the other faculty members were from firms headquartered in Florida, Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
